Ẹkpẹtin
Ẹkpẹtin describes chests made of wood and decorated with carved motifs. Only a small number of chests have been identified in museum collections. The carving style of one example suggests that it was created by a member of the Igbesamwan, while another example, decorated with motifs of birds, snakes, trees, and a sacrificial or execution scene, was most likely carved by an Omada, or palace page.
One Ẹkpẹtin was also carved during the twentieth century by the artist H. I. Erhabor.
