Ebe Oghohẹn
The umbrella tree is a significant plant to Benin people. The tree provided shades for resting for long distance traders in pre-colonial Benin kingdom. Its leaves were also used as part of roofing materials for the construction of thatched roofs. When this plant is used by the Osun priest, it is symbolically meant to implies the power to foreshadow ones superiority.
