Isanrẹn
Isanrẹn can be used to lock rooms such as the aza emwin arhe, a vault or storage room for valuables, including money, ivory, artefacts, coral beads, and clothing. Isanrẹn were cast in brass, indicating that they were used within palaces. Others were made from a combination of iron and brass and would have been produced by both the Igun-Eronmwon and the Igun-Ematon. Some examples include coral or agate inlays, suggesting that they were particularly important and may have been used only in the Ọba Palace.
