Mit kleiner Darstellung eines menschlichen KopfesNach Luschan lokale Arbeit nach dem Vorbild europäischer "Drehbassen" (ca. 17. Jh.). Nicht weit von der ursprünglichen Mündung geplatzt.Katalog zur Benin-Ausstellung (2008)Die eine Kanone gehörte zu den Feuerwaffen, die die Portugiesen um die Wende zum 16. Jh. nach Benin brachten. An ihrem Lauf finden sich das königliche Wappen von Portugal und eine erhabene Armillarsphäre. Die andere Kanone wurde in Benin selbst nach den importierten Mustern angefertigt. Diese Geschosse trugen zur gefürchteten Stärke der Armee Benins bei. [Benin_Königreich]
