Online Beschreibung, Ada-Schwerter, die sich ebenfalls auf einer Reihe von Reliefplatten finden, konnten nicht nur zeremonielle Bedeutung haben, sondern waren zugleich Waffen. Das königliche ada-Schwert war eine Insignie seiner Macht und seiner spirituellen Kraft. Das hier gezeigte Schwert hat einen Griff, der mit Messingblech beschlagen und mit Messingdraht umwickelt ist. Das Griffende ist als menschlicher Kopf, vielleicht eines Portugiesen, gestaltet. Wahrscheinlich stammt es aus dem Besitz eines hohen Würdenträgers.[Benin_Königreich]
