The Edogun is the leader of the Ọba’s guards and close warriors and he is the leader of the Ibiwe n’khua. The Edogun states that it was the responsibility of the title holder to discipline any chief found not properly dressed. In this video, chief Edogun speaks about the origin of the title and his functions to the Ọba of Benin as well as during the coronation ceremony where he fights the Ogiamien anti-royalist forces, chasing them from Ibiwe to Ekiokpagha at Sokponba road. He displayed two of the weapons used by the Edogun as a leader of the Ọba’s army, Chief Edogun.
