C 4048 Über die ursprüngliche Funktion dieser schweren, an einen Mörser erinnernden Henkelschale ist nichts bekannt. Sie ist beschädigt, der Boden ist herausgebrochen. Der ehemalige Direktor des Museums, Georg Thilenius, machte sich Gedanken, ob es sich hier um ein nach europäischem Vorbild gestaltetes Gefäß handelte, konnte diese Annahme durch Vergleichsbeispiele aber nicht erhärten. |

C 4048 Nothing is known about the original function of this heavy bowl, reminiscent of a mortar. Its bottom is broken. The former director of the museum, Georg Thilenius, wondered whether this was a container designed after European models, but was unable to substantiate the assumption with comparative examples. |
